Fall2016Classes-matrix580x482

PLEASE NOTE:

The class fee is for one primary handler and one dog. You may not bring two dogs. You will not be able to focus on two dogs and training will suffer for both you and the dogs.

If you want two dogs to be trained, you must obtain two spots, each spot for one dog and one handler.

If you want to switch handlers, both handlers must come to most classes since we are essentially teaching the handlers more than we are teaching the dogs.

A mature child can be the primary handler, but must have parental support at every class. Spouses and family members are welcome, but there must be one primary handler.

Family guests must be quiet and not interfere during the class.

Any special circumstances regarding more than one handler or dog must be discussed and approved prior to class with the class instructor.

We reserve the right to cancel a class if less than 3 people sign up.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS (all classes are held at the Clubhouse unless noted otherwise):

STAR Puppy (3-12 months) - Socialization-Training-Activity-Responsibility

The
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start.  Training will consist of owner behaviors, puppy behaviors, and pre-Canine Good Citizen test behaviors.  Classes will include valuable training tips for puppy owners - such as how to house train - and lessons on practical skills for puppies - such as coming when called.

You must attend at least six of the eight classes. Your instructor will administer a test for you and your puppy at the end of the course. When you successfully complete the class your puppy is eligible to enroll in the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class and you’ll get an application to send to AKC for enrollment in the CGC program.

All dogs are welcome to participate in these AKC structured programs, including mixed and pure breeds.
